Fineas.Ai is an AI-powered investment research application to aid beginner investors in finance research. I worked in a team of 5 to help both new and experienced retail traders through intuitive, organized, and simple interfaces.

Problem

It is difficult to contextualize the constant stream of financial information that is produced by the market. How can we simplify investment research to those new to stock market analysis and finance?

Outcome

I led the Fineas.Ai brand design by delivering mobile prototypes of the application, implementing the front end, and creating digital marketing assets.

Our competitors lack solutions tailored to retail investors who need reliable market research workflows.

Current solutions involve interfaces with high-volume information and fragmented data. Due to the complexity of navigating financial information, beginner investors make misinformed trades.

A majority of the responders found analyzing data and interpreting it to be the most difficult part of investing (51.9%) of and get their investment information from social media (70%).

Fineas.Ai simplifies complex financial research through a unique mobile interface that makes learning how to invest less intimidating and more appealing.

Designing and prototyping

from scratch

I took the only design prompt given—”Make it purple”—and ran with it.
Contrary to how Fineas used to look, new Fineas feels boundless and free.
This is a necessary approach to making the user feel safe when interacting with Fineas. Our competitors display such information in complex, disorganized ways that feel constricting and pretentious. The goal with Fineas’ design was to prevent such feelings. We invite beginner investors to learn within a space with endless possibilities.

Post-implementation

feedback & results

Natural search was delivered in August ‘25 and went live September ‘25. Due to my contract ending in August ‘25, I was unable to collect adequate data on the impact natural search had on user engagement. The quantitative impact is currently a work in progress. Check back soon for updates. You can test it here in the meantime.
